How we work with data

Every chart identifies its data publisher, indicator, year and underlying observations. We keep source URLs available and offer CSV, SVG and social-image PNG downloads so readers can inspect and share the numbers.

Our automated feed uses the World Bank Indicators API. A scheduled GitHub Actions job checks 30 curated indicators daily. It chooses only a calendar year for which all displayed countries have observations and never mixes different years in the same visual.

Upstream statistics can be revised; the visible year and API-check date on each chart matter. Automated ingestion does not edit our human-written analysis. A substantial ranking change requires editorial review.

Data attribution is not endorsement. The World Bank, ITU and the original statistical contributors remain the source publishers. Our pipeline currently uses the World Bank Indicators API, while direct MoSPI and RBI API integrations are under evaluation. Consult original documentation and reuse terms for your own publications.
